About the Artist

Hi, I’m Dominika, though most people know me as Domi. I was born and raised in Hungary, but my journey has taken me far beyond where it began. Growing up traveling and moving around a lot gave me an appreciation for history, culture, travel, and the stories that connect people across different places and backgrounds. As a teenager, I spent a year in Alaska as an exchange student during the 2009–2010 school year. That experience opened my eyes to an entirely different part of the world and ultimately became the reason I found my way back to the United States years later. Along the way, I also spent time living in the United Kingdom, further deepening my love of travel, exploration, and discovering beauty in unexpected places. Today, I call Northern Nevada home, but my love for adventure, collecting experiences, and staying curious about the world continues to influence everything I create. Many of my ideas are inspired by places I’ve visited, people I’ve met, antique shops I’ve wandered through, museums I’ve explored, and the countless treasures I’ve discovered along the way.

I’m the artist and creator behind RockIt Crystals & Oddities, a business that began in 2021 as a small crystal shop and has since grown into something much bigger than I ever imagined. What started with sourcing and selling crystals gradually evolved as my own interests, creativity and curiosity expanded. Over the years, I found myself drawn to oddities, entomology, mixed media artwork and eventually crystal suncatchers. What began as a crystal business slowly transformed into a creative outlet where I could combine nature, art, history and storytelling into pieces that feel both beautiful and unexpected. While crystals remain an important part of my business, the artistic side has become an increasingly larger focus over the years. Today, much of my work centers around creating one-of-a-kind pieces featuring butterflies, moths, bones, skulls, botanicals, crystals, prisms, vintage & antique elements and other natural curiosities. Every piece is designed and assembled by hand, making each piece uniquely its own.

Much of my inspiration comes from nature, travel, antique stores, flea markets, museums and the unexpected treasures I discover along the way. I love finding beauty in unusual places and combining materials that wouldn’t normally belong together to create something entirely new. Whether it’s a delicate butterfly display, a crystal suncatcher dancing with rainbows or a mixed media oddities piece, my goal is always to create artwork that sparks curiosity, conversation and connection. One of the things I love most about this work is helping people see beauty from a different perspective. A butterfly wing, a vintage frame, a crystal prism or a naturally weathered bone can all become part of something extraordinary when viewed through a creative lens.

In addition to creating artwork, I also teach workshops throughout the United States. Through both public and private classes, I share the techniques behind many of my creations and help others explore their own creativity. One of my favorite parts of teaching is watching someone walk into a workshop convinced they’re “not artistic” and leave with a piece they’re genuinely proud of. Creativity isn’t reserved for a select few, sometimes people just need the opportunity and encouragement to discover it for themselves.

Art isn’t the only way I connect with people, however. I am also the founder of Journey Eternal Sound Healing, where I facilitate sound bath experiences using crystal singing bowls, crystal harp, chimes, and other instruments. While artwork and sound healing may seem like very different worlds, they are deeply connected in my life. Both are rooted in creativity, presence, mindfulness, wonder, and creating meaningful experiences for others. Whether I’m designing a butterfly shadowbox, creating a crystal suncatcher, guiding a workshop or holding space during a sound bath session, my intention remains the same: to create moments that inspire people to slow down, reconnect, and experience a little more beauty in their lives.

When I’m not creating art, teaching workshops, or facilitating sound healing sessions, you’ll usually find me traveling, exploring antique stores and flea markets, searching for unique materials, spending time outdoors, or chasing inspiration wherever it decides to appear.

Thank you for supporting handmade art, small businesses, and independent artists. I’m grateful you’re here and hope you find something that sparks curiosity, joy, inspiration, or simply makes you see the world a little differently.
