Barthalomew Iridescent Cat Skull White Morpho Butterfly Floral Entomology Taxidermy Oddities Glass Dome Artwork

Barthalomew feels like something discovered in the drawing room of an old estate, where delicate porcelain, treasured antiques and unusual natural specimens have been collected over generations. There’s an almost fairytale-like quality to him, with just enough of the macabre to remind you that not all beautiful things are quite what they seem.

At the heart of this piece rests a genuine cat skull with an iridescent finish that catches the light in soft shades of pearl, pink and blue. A magnificent white Morpho butterfly spreads its wings above, surrounded by delicate dried florals in muted greens, ivory and warm golden tones. Everything is enclosed beneath a large glass globe resting on an ornate ceramic base with raised detailing, cobalt blue floral accents and touches of gold. A rich blue satin ribbon brings the entire piece together.

Picture Barthalomew displayed on an antique writing desk, nestled among porcelain treasures on a bookshelf or taking pride of place on a vintage sideboard. There’s something particularly charming about the contrast between the old-fashioned elegance of the ceramic base and the unexpected little world preserved beneath the glass.

One available. Once Barthalomew finds his home, he’s gone.
