Picture Fanny on a shelf surrounded by antique books and brass candlesticks, nestled into a maximalist gallery wall, or sitting somewhere the afternoon light can catch all of the tiny details through the glass. She feels like a miniature garden that’s been allowed to grow completely wild inside a coffin.

I wanted this one to feel lush and a little untamed, with the softer pinks, creams and faded greens weaving their way around the specimens instead of everything feeling perfectly placed. The three winged specimens almost look like they’ve settled into different layers of the same strange little garden, while the tiny bones tucked throughout give you something unexpected to discover when you look closer.

She’s soft and romantic without being precious, a little overgrown, a little macabre, and full of those tiny details that make you want to turn her around and look at her from every angle.

Created with three real preserved winged specimens, preserved and dried botanicals, small animal bones, moss, and natural elements inside a dimensional brass-toned glass coffin.
