Picture Ramona sitting at the center of a bookshelf, perched on an antique dresser, or surrounded by old books, brass candlesticks and all the strange little treasures you’ve collected over the years. She’s impossible to overlook, but somehow still feels like she belongs in a room full of beautiful old things.

I wanted this piece to feel earthy and almost romantic despite the very large lady at the center of it. The preserved tarantula rises out of a bed of muted botanicals in soft greens, creams and warm golden tones, giving her this beautifully overgrown, slightly forgotten feeling beneath the oversized glass dome.

She feels like a piece for someone whose home exists somewhere between an old natural history collection, a moody Victorian parlor and a beautifully overgrown garden.
