Selene Coffin Terrarium Entomology Insect Floral Spooky Season Oddities Artwork

Selene feels like holding onto the very last pieces of summer before everything starts to change.

Warm, overgrown, a little wild and packed full of tiny things to discover the longer you look at her. This is one of those pieces where I kept adding and layering until there was basically nowhere else for me to go - which, naturally, is usually when I know I’m done. Created with three preserved monarch butterflies alongside a mixture of natural curiosities including bones, snake sheds, mushrooms, wasp nest and dried citrus.

Selene is a one-of-one original and will not be recreated exactly.

As always, natural specimens may have small imperfections, variations and signs of their previous life. These are completely normal and part of working with natural materials.
