🌿 Woodland Curiosities Glass Dome Workshop – In Person
Hosted by RockIt Crystals & Oddities
📍 The Lace Collective – 437 Idaho St, Elko, NV
📅 Sunday, September 13th
🕒 Starts at 3PM | Duration: ~2 hours
💵 $150 per person
Step into the world of Woodland Curiosities and create your own woodland-inspired glass dome featuring a real medium-sized animal skull as the centerpiece.
Inspired by moss-covered forest floors, weathered botanicals, and the quiet beauty of nature, this workshop is all about creating a display that feels as though it was discovered while wandering through the woods. Working inside an 8” glass dome, you’ll build a layered composition using preserved botanicals, mosses, crystals, and other natural elements to create a one-of-a-kind piece that reflects your own style.
Throughout the workshop, I’ll guide you through composition, layering, balance, and working within the glass dome so your finished piece feels cohesive, dimensional, and display-ready. While everyone will begin with similar materials, no two domes will ever look the same.
✨ Materials include:
• A real medium-sized animal skull (opossum, raccoon, or similar depending on availability)
• An 8” × 4.7” glass dome with wooden base
• Tools & adhesive
• Preserved mosses, dried florals, natural woodland elements, crystals and decorative accents
🦋 Optional Monarch Butterfly Add-On (+$10)
For those wanting an extra focal point, you can add a preserved small to medium Monarch butterfly to your project during registration. This optional upgrade allows you to incorporate a butterfly into your woodland scene while still keeping the overall aesthetic natural and balanced.
✨ Optional Personal Touch
You’re also welcome to bring a few small personal items to incorporate into your design, such as crystals, tiny keepsakes, feathers, or other meaningful natural elements. While completely optional, these personal touches can make your finished piece even more unique.
Whether you prefer something dark and moody or light and botanical, you’ll have the freedom to arrange your materials in a way that reflects your own vision. Every finished dome will be completely one of a kind.
This workshop is perfect for nature lovers, collectors, and anyone looking to create a distinctive piece of woodland-inspired décor while learning new mixed-media techniques in a relaxed, beginner-friendly environment.
Workshop Policy: Due to limited seating and advance material purchases, workshop registrations are non-refundable. If you’re unable to attend, please contact me as soon as possible. At my discretion, I may be able to transfer your registration to another workshop, issue store credit or allow you to transfer your spot to someone else.
